About The Farm

The farm was first started in 2002.
John, an ‘ole west Texas boy raised in Seminole, was developing an interest in nutrient dense foods, spurred by the concerns of health problems some his friends and family were experiencing. Peter’s interest was based on growing highly nutritious foods for the underserved and less fortunate. The first season, just a quarter acre was put into production. This year we’ll be growing eight acres of mixed vegetables, two acres of watermelons and two acres of sweet corn. We have 119 Certified Organic acres, spread over three farms that we’ll be developing over the years.

We Are Organic

Our Organic Farming Practices

Walnut Creek Organic Farms has been following organic farming practices since it first began in 2002 as a ¼ acre garden.

To us, organic farming is more than just being certified. We follow the true and original intent of organic farming by paying heed to the most important tenet of all; being good stewards of the land and the environment. We do this by working to increase the quality of the soil by increasing the percentage of organic matter, by creating a healthy biological and living soil and by leaving our land better than we found it.

We at Walnut Creek Organic Farms believe that it is important to help keep the integrity of the word ‘organic’ and thereby are fully committed to supporting the work that so many farmers have done before. We support the true meaning and practice of organic farming and will work to keep the integrity of the word ‘organic’ true to its meaning.
